Khatab Elbasher Injured in Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — November 15, 2025, Khatab Elbasher was injured as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 3:07 a.m. on Gessner Road.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Gessner Road and Westheimer Road.
Investigators said that 42-year-old Khatab Elbasher was in a Kia Sorento going westbound along Westheimer Road. At Gessner, a northbound Buick LaCrosse reportedly ran the light and crashed into the Kia. Due to this, Khatab Elbasher was seriously injured.
While authorities allege that the driver of the Buick was under the influence of alcohol, they also say the four occupants fled the scene. It's unclear at this time if authorities have identified a suspect.

It's challenging enough if authorities are still searching for the runaway driver here. It's only going to present additional hurdles if that driver was drunk. Rarely is it as simple as just filing charges, and that's that. With alcohol in particular, a proper investigation needs to dig into where the alcohol came from and whether or not a local bar unlawfully over-served the drunk driver. That could lead to legal consequences for the complicit alcohol provider as well as the driver they over-served. Hopefully there will be further public information released if authorities are able to make arrests and file charges against all the wrongdoers involved.
