Abigail Juarez Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Fort Worth, TX
UPDATE (August 28, 2025): Authorities now allege that the driver who reportedly hit and killed Abigail Juarez was intoxicated at the time. They recommended a charge for intoxication manslaughter.
Right now, there's no indication on if alcohol was the intoxicant and, if so, where it came from. If the allegations are true, then obviously consequences are warranted. But too often, those consequences lie solely with the intoxicated drivers when Texas law also can hold negligent bars and other establishments accountable if they over-serve people who cause deadly accidents.
As investigations continue, my hope is that there will also be investigations into the hours leading up to this accident and whether or not an accomplice had a role in a woman losing her life.
Fort Worth, TX — August 24, 2025, Abigail Juarez was killed and one person was hurt as the result of a car accident at 10:00 p.m. along Benbrook Boulevard.
Initial details about the accident say that it took place near the US 377, Camp Bowie, and Southwest Boulevard roundabout.

According to officials, two people were walking along the roadway at the time. While doing so, it appears a pickup struck the pedestrians. As a result, a woman was killed. Tarrant County officials identified the woman as 32-year-old Abigail Monic Juarez. A man was taken from the scene with serious injuries.
Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
Commentary
People tend to jump to conclusions when it comes to pedestrian accidents, but they can be just as complex as a car crash. Investigators still need to consider surrounding factors, including visibility, road design, distraction, vehicle speed, alcohol, possible emergencies, etc. Without a proper investigation, something is bound to slip through the cracks, and that's the last thing victims and their families need. It remains to be seen if steps are being taken here to thoroughly investigate the accident.
