Alejandro Cruz, Brianna Botello Injured in Car Accident in San Marcos, TX
San Marcos, TX — September 14, 2024, Alejandro Cruz and Brianna Botello were injured following a car accident at around 11:00 p.m. on Edward Gary Street.
According to investigators, the crash took place in the area of South Edward Gary Street and East San Antonio Street.

Investigators said that 25-year-old Alejandro Cruz and 23-year-old Brianna Botello were in a Buick Verano going northbound on Edward Gary. Possibly due to another driver, the vehicle lost control and ran off-road. There, it struck multiple parked vehicles. Botello was seriously injured in the crash while Cruz's injuries were moderate.

Details about this other driver are scarce, so it's not clear if that driver stuck around or if they're facing any kind of charges. It makes me wonder if authorities really gave the crash the attention it deserves. It would surprise folks how often authorities missed something important simply because they moved on before really getting the whole story. It's one of the reasons a lot of people end up seeking avenues independent of the authorities to get the closure they deserve. Hopefully authorities here have been more thorough behind the scenes than in their public statements.
