Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. Killed in Pedestrian Accident in El Paso County, TX
El Paso County, TX — July 1, 2024, Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. was killed due to a car versus pedestrian accident which happened at 9:13 p.m. on Horizon Boulevard.
Initial investigations about the accident say that it happened at the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Gateway Boulevard West.

According to officials, 36-year-old Alejandro Daniel Gonzalez Jr. was on foot and reportedly in a crosswalk going across the intersection. While doing so, authorities say a northbound Nissan Armada struck Alejandro Gonzalez, resulting in fatal injuries.
Authorities allege the driver had no lights on at the time of the accident. They didn't report any additional details.

Driving with headlights is a very simple part of driving, and one has to wonder what role not having them on must have played here. It's possible there's more to this story than initial reports suggest. I can only hope authorities were thorough enough that the victim's family got the answers they deserved.
