Alexander Singh, 1 Injured in Semi-Truck Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — August 29, 2025, Alexander Singh and one other were injured following a tractor-trailer accident at 11:00 p.m. along the Eastex Freeway.
According to initial details on the accident, it took place between Kingwood Drive and Northpark Drive along northbound lanes of I-69/US 59.

Authorities said that 20-year-old Alexander Singh and a 19-year-old woman were in a Toyota Corolla going north on the interstate. Up ahead, it appears that a semi-truck with two trailers was disabled and blocking lanes of travel. The Toyota Corolla crashed into the stationary tractor-trailer.
Reports say that both Alexander Singh and the passenger in the Toyota had serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A tractor-trailer breaking down on a major freeway at night is certainly cause for concern. However, the key question isn't just what happened—it's why it happened. In my experience handling hundreds of commercial vehicle accident cases, the answers tend to show there was more than just one mistake leading to the accident.
For example, I had a case not long ago with details similar to these. A commercial truck broke down on the highway, and a serious collision occurred. Through our independent investigations, we found some key mistakes authorities never mentioned in their reports.
For one, the truck driver never put out cones or flares to mark the obstruction—action that's required by law. Secondly, the truck driver didn't need to block lanes of travel. They could have continued driving until they were safely out of the way, but they instead panicked and unnecessarily blocked traffic. And lastly—perhaps most importantly—our investigations showed the truck broke down due to months of neglected maintenance. The trucking company put off routine repairs to the point that easily avoidable issues led to a breakdown which in turn led to people getting seriously hurt.
I can't say if events like that led to or contributed to this specific situation. It's an example, though, of why simply having one person to blame isn't necessarily the whole story. Victims and families need to have the full story at their disposal both to seek a fair resolution and to help ensure there is accountability for what happened. Whether or not authorities here can provide all of that on their own remains to be seen, but it's not something I'd take for granted.
