Man Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident on Harvard Avenue in Lewisville, TX
Lewisville, TX — August 3, 2024, a man was injured as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident at around 7:23 p.m. on Harvard Avenue.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the area of the Harvard Avenue and South Mill Street.
According to officials, a 26-year-old man was in an Isuzu truck going along northbound South Mill Street. The driver, a 17-year-old, turned left onto Harvard. Doing so, it tipped over onto its right side, hitting a pole in the process. The man riding in the truck was seriously injured as a result. The teenage driver had less serious accidents.

Right now authorities allege that the teenage driver of the truck had been drinking, and they recommended charges for intoxication assault. If that's true, it raises many questions. Where did a 17-year-old get alcohol from? Was it given to them, or did a negligent alcohol provider sell it to them? What was this truck being used for? Was it a rental? Privately owned? Used for a local business? And if this was a work truck, how in the world does an allegedly intoxicated teenager end up behind the wheel? Ultimately, there are a lot of unanswered questions right now, and the answers could show that this is an incredibly complex legal situation a police investigation alone isn't likely to address.
