Commentary
Did authorities ever find out what led to a driver getting on the wrong side of the road here? In my experience, it's almost always due to drunk driving. Not only that, but investigations will often show a wrong-way driver was unlawfully over-served by a nearby bar or restaurant, so there could be two wrongdoers whose actions led to the crash.
That said, it's up to the evidence to say for sure, and it's just not clear from the preliminary reports whether or not authorities ever reached a proper conclusion to all of this. If nothing else, my hope is there was accountability for what was no doubt an easily avoidable series of events.
