Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Even narrowing the possible cause of the fire to an "electrical issues" presents multiple possibilities. Was this a faulty appliance? Was the wiring in the apartment building messed up? Was this due to a botched installation or repair job? It takes careful analysis of the scene to find out just how foreseeable and preventable a fire was. Chalking it up as just an unavoidable accident without a proper investigation simply wouldn't be right.
