Bertha Castaneda, Maria Figueroa, Diane Goetz, Child Killed, 1 Injured in School Van Accident in Randolph Township, NJ
Randolph Township, NJ — April 10, 2025, Bertha Castaneda, Maria Figueroa, Diane Goetz and a 4-year-old child were killed and another child was injured in a school van accident at about 3:20 p.m. on State Route 10.
Authorities said four vehicles, including a minivan transporting students from P.G. Chambers School, were involved in a crash near Millbrook Avenue.
Bertha Castaneda, 67, and Maria Z. Figueroa, 58, were in the school van, while Diane Goetz, 71, was in another vehicle, according to authorities. They died after the crash.
A four-year-old boy who had been in the van died April 11, authorities said. Another child was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the accident.
