Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Just because authorities seem to have a person they're blaming for this doesn't mean everything is open-and-shut. Ultimately, people need evidence after a serious car accident if they're going to get a resolution that meets their needs. Authorities don't generally prioritize anything beyond just filing charges or citations, so waiting around for them isn't always the best idea. It's generally better to be proactive, finding out where the investigations may be lacking, and ensure another set of eyes is there to catch whatever authorities might let slip through the cracks.
