Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People sometimes think there's going to be a whole different set of legal hurdles with boating accidents, but the general idea is similar to car accidents. At the end of the day, it's about how things could have been avoided and whether or not either boat operator behaved negligently. That means taking witness statements, pulling cell phone records, testing for drugs and alcohol, etc. Whether an accident's on the road or on the water, getting clear answers is a prudent first step to getting a proper resolution for those involved.
