Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After any serious car accident, it's important to go beyond just who's to blame. Investigators should be able to say why the crash happened, and that takes evidence. Cellphone usage, road conditions, tire conditions, vehicle defects, poor signage or lighting, alcohol, medical conditions—likely or not, all factors should be considered. Otherwise, there may be too many gaps in the story for the victims to get the resolution they deserve.
