Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After any serious car accident, it's important to know what steps are being taken to preserve evidence. People often take for granted that authorities do exhaustive crash reconstructions and get all the answers. A lot of families find, though, that they're left weeks or months after a crash with the same questions they had on day one.
Unfortunately, not all departments prioritize accident reconstruction, so officers don't always have the tools or time they need for a proper investigation. That's when there may need to be independent investigators stepping in to clear things up and catch anything important authorities might have missed.
