These preliminary statements leave far more questions than answers. My hope is that investigations were thorough enough to avoid simply looking for blame. At the end of the day, a serious crash needs a serious investigation. If authorities are too narrow in their efforts, important extenuating circumstances can slip through the cracks. That's why so many victims end up looking elsewhere for ways to ensure their side of the story is told fairly. It remains to be seen if that would reveal anything new about this crash.
