Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After a serious car accident, it's important to know that investigators are looking into the right things. People tend to just assume authorities take care of all that, but a lot of folks find authorities only do surface-level investigations before simply moving on.
That's why following up with them can be prudent. If it seems authorities are covering all bases and can clear up all concerns and questions, they likely did good investigations. But if their explanations fall short and leave gaps in the story, getting all the facts will likely require more thorough independent investigations.
