I find that a lot of people overlook single-vehicle truck accidents, chalking everything up to a simple work accident. But that actually is exactly why these crashes can be so complex. A commercial truck can involve all kinds of unique factors a typical car wreck doesn't. Vehicle maintenance, lack of inspections, drivers forced to work long hours or take risks to appease unreasonable bosses, issues related to cargo, etc.
As such, a run-of-the-mill car accident investigation isn't likely to address a serious truck wreck like this on its own. Either authorities can show they had well-equipped, experienced investigators look into this, or there may need to be secondary investigations to make sure nothing important slipped through the cracks.
