Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Anytime there's a fatal motorcycle wreck, it's worth asking how thorough authorities are being in their investigations. While I can't say anything about this particular accident, motorcycle accidents in general don't always get the attention they need. A lot of people are biased against motorcycle riders, assuming they're all being reckless daredevils. I know from experience that most are safe drivers, and I've seen how this unfair bias can sometimes lead to authorities moving on before truly getting clear answers about the cause of a serious accident.
That's why it can be important, then, to follow up with authorities and see if they've dedicated the time and tools necessary to getting a complete picture of what led to the accident. If it seems their efforts were too narrow, then it may be that further independent investigations would catch something important authorities in their haste let slip through the cracks.
