Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If authorities confirm alcohol as a factor here, it may seem like that would make things open-and-shut. However, it would call for investigations into where the alcohol came from and if a negligent alcohol provider also contributed to the crash. Bars and other providers can be responsible if they unlawfully over-serve someone, and that intoxication leads to people getting hurt. It's possible investigations will show nothing like that happened here. But if it did, those affected deserve to know all responsible parties will be held accountable.
