Cottage Grove, MN — July 16, 2025, One person was killed following a car accident that occurred at around 4:30 P.M. on Highway 61.

According to reports, an SUV operated by Crystal Maciewski was traveling in the area of HIghway 61 and  Kingsborough Trail when it collided with a vehicle for unknown reasons in the intersection, causing the vehicle to roll and eject Maciewski.

When first responders arrived on scene they found Maciewski fatally injured and she was pronounced deceased, while the driver from the other vehicle was not injured. The cause of the crash has not been determined, and officials have not released an update on the status of the investigation.
