San Antonio, TX — September 18, 2025, Damon Henderson was injured due to a car accident at around 12:40 a.m. along Interstate 37.
Initial details surrounding the accident say it happened at the I-37 and I-10 interchange south of Downtown.

Officials said that 57-year-old Damon Henderson was the driver of a GMC Sierra that stopped along the southbound lanes of the freeway. Damon Henderson reportedly was outside of the vehicle on foot at the time when a gray 2014 Dodge Avenger struck him.
Due to this collision, Damon Henderson was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. Authorities report that the Dodge Avenger driver fled the scene. It's unclear if that person has been identified.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Authorities seem to have clear knowledge of the vehicle involved here, so even if they haven't caught the driver yet, it's likely just a matter of time. Once that happens, investigators should find out why that driver left the scene. A lot of the time, there was something specific they wanted to hide—drugs, drunk driving, warrants, etc. I remain hopeful there will be a just conclusion to all of this so long as investigations continue.
