Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There isn't a lot of information on what actually caused the crash here. Hopefully there's been a chance to focus on the accident investigations amidst all the chaos of getting help for the victims and clearing the accident scene. Not a lot of people know this, but authorities also often call on independent accident reconstructionists to help with serious accidents. If a department doesn't have the time or personnel to do a dedicated accident investigation on their own, independent professionals can step in and help pick up the slack. If that has yet to happen here, there could be time-sensitive evidence not getting the attention it needs.
