Eva Olmos, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Potter County, TX
Potter County, TX — May 15, 2024, Eva Olmos and one other were injured following a car accident around 4:00 p.m. along Loop 335.
Investigators said that the accident happened in the area of the Loop 335 and Whitaker Road intersection.
According to officials, 47-year-old Eva Ruvalcaba Olmos was in a Cadillac going eastbound on Loop 335. A Nissan Titan was going northbound. The Nissan reportedly pulled through a stop sign, and the Cadillac crashed into it.
Due to the accident, the Nissan driver reportedly had serious injuries while Eva Olmos's injuries were called moderate. The Nissan driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.

If the allegations here are true, did authorities ever look into where the drunk driver got their alcohol? In Texas, there's often a complicit bar or other establishment who unlawfully over-served the drunk driver. That can mean that both the drunk driver and the provider who over-served them need to be held accountable. But that only happens if investigations are thorough enough to dig beyond the crash scene. If that never happened here, it's possible authorities never got the full story.
