Graciela Citlali-Tonazin Sahs Killed, 1 Injured in Hit-and-run Accident in Sunland Park, NM
Sunland Park, NM — July 3, 2025, Graciela Citlali-Tonazin Sahs was killed and one was injured in a hit-and-run accident at 10:45 p.m. on Sunland Park Drive.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened at Sunland Park Drive and Appaloosa Drive.

It appears that 26-year-old Graciela Citlali-Tonazin Sahs and a man were on foot in the area of the intersection at the time. While walking, authorities say a maroon or red Ford truck hit both Graciela Sahs and the man with her. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene.
Due to the collision, Graciela Sahs suffered fatal injuries. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Authorities say they later located the runaway vehicle and identified a suspect. That person appears to be facing multiple charges, including failure to stop and render aid and tampering with evidence.

If authorities have identified the right suspect here, steps can be taken to find out why they fled in the first place. There's often something specific they didn't want authorities to know about. Drugs, warrants, drunk driving, etc. Those can have vastly different legal implications not just for the suspect but also for the victims and families affected by their actions.
