James Elton Sherrod Killed in Car Accident in Martin County, TX
Martin County, TX — May 22, 2023, James Elton Sherrod was fatally injured due to a car accident at around 11:18 p.m. along Interstate 20.
Preliminary information provided by authorities says that the crash took place in the area of westbound I-20 mile marker 152, just off F.M. 829.

According to officials, 26-year-old James Elton Sherrod was in a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling westbound on the interstate. Details suggest that the pickup took the exit toward F.M. 829, going onto the service road. The vehicle then somehow continued off-road where it lost control and crashed into the embankment at the F.M. 829 overpass.
As a result of the crash, it appears that Sherrod sustained fatal injuries. There were no other reported injuries involved in the crash. Right now, there are factors allegedly surrounding the crash which have yet to be confirmed.
