Fort Worth, TX — April 12, 2025, Joseph Gonzalez and three others were injured after a car accident at around 6:39 p.m. on Loop 820.
Investigators said that the incident took place along the southbound lanes of the freeway near Chapin Road.

According to officials, 39-year-old Joseph Gonzalez was on foot by a vehicle along Loop 820. While there, it appears a southbound Ford E Series failed to maintain its lane and crashed into Joseph Gonzalez and the other vehicle.
Due to the collision, Joseph Gonzalez had reportedly non-incapacitating injuries. Two passengers in the Ford were seriously injured while the driver had minor injuries. That driver is accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Commentary
If it's true that alcohol contributed to this accident, have authorities looked into where that alcohol came from? Many drunk driver accidents involve people who were unlawfully over-served by a negligent alcohol provider. Those alcohol providers can then be held responsible if their over-service leads to people getting hurt or killed. But if authorities focus only on the alleged drunk driver, they may end up letting that negligent establishment off scot-free to continue putting the community at risk. If nothing else, those harmed by drunk driving deserve to see all wrongdoers held appropriately accountable.
