Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One thing I have yet to see from authorities is why they think the driver fled here. Often, it's not simple panic but rather a specific factor the driver doesn't want police to find out about. Did they have warrants? Was the vehicle stolen? Could drunk driving be a factor? Depending on the answer, there could be more to answer to than just leaving the scene of an accident. If nothing else, there's a family out there who deserves to know they're getting the whole story.
