Lipsy Castellanos Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — May 1, 2024, Lipsy Castellanos was reportedly injured due to a car accident around 9:00 p.m. along Wayside Drive.
Investigators said that the crash happened in the area of the Wayside Drive and Long Drive intersection.
It appears that 23-year-old Lipsy Castellanos and three others were in a Chevy Cruze going along eastbound Long Drive. At Wayside, authorities say a southbound vehicle ran the light, crashing into the Cruze.
Harris County officials say that Lipsy Castellanos was injured in the accident. They also allege that the driver who ran the light failed to stop and render aid, but it appears the driver was identified and charged.
Commentary by Michael Grossman
If the allegations here are true, did authorities ever look into why this driver fled the scene? It's rarely just panic about the accident. It's more often something else they don't want authorities to know about. It could be warrants, drugs, drunk driving, etc. At the end of the day, blame for a crash is just one aspect of an accident investigation. There could be other factors that call for consequences which simple hit-and-run charges might not address.
