Wise County, TX — June 27, 2024, Logan Ray Churchwell was killed following a truck accident at approximately 3:45 a.m. along U.S. Highway 287.

According to authorities, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of U.S. 287 in the vicinity of the Montague County line.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a southbound Freightliner overturned, coming to rest blocking the southbound lanes of the highway. 33-year-old Logan Churchwell had been traveling in a southbound pickup truck on the highway. It reportedly collided with the trailer of the overturned 18-wheeler. Churchwell suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene.
