Maria Ortiz Injured in Car Accident in Schertz, TX
Schertz, TX — October 4, 2024, Maria Ortiz sustained injuries as the result of a car accident at around 3:02 p.m. along Green Valley Road.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of the Green Valley Road and Koehler Road intersection.

Officials say that 52-year-old Maria Ortiz was in a Nissan Rogue going eastbound along Green Valley. An oncoming vehicle may have gone into Ortiz's lane, causing Ortiz to run off-road. There, the Nissan crashed. Due to the collision, Maria Ortiz sustained serious injuries.
There were no other reported injuries. It does not appear this other vehicle stayed at the scene. No further information is available right now.

If it's true some other reckless driver caused this accident, have authorities continued to look for evidence to try and identify that driver? One thing that could help I see authorities overlook a lot is checking nearby residences or businesses for cameras. A lot of people have security cameras these days, and sometimes they may have video that could help police in their investigations. As obvious a detail as that may seem, a lot of things can slip through the cracks if authorities weren't thorough or moved on too quickly from their investigations. Circling back around could do some good.
