Authorities are investigating after a motorcycle accident left one person injured in the-morning of March 19th. According to official statements, a Can Am Spyder was travelling on MO 17 in the northbound lanes when for unknown reasons the vehicle lost control, causing the Spyder to leave the roadway and strike a sign, ejecting the rider

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they found that the driver had been seriously injured and they were transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time it is unclear what caused the vehicle to lose control, and so far investigators are still piecing together all the details from the crash, this remains an ongoing investigation however, and additional information may be released by officials at a later date.

Before drawing any conclusions, it’s essential to ask three key questions to ensure a full and thorough investigation.

The first question is whether authorities conducted a comprehensive investigation. Officers typically document the scene and assess visible evidence, but the depth of their analysis can vary. In this case, where the vehicle veered off the road and struck a sign, investigators should evaluate whether road conditions, debris, visibility, or an unexpected obstacle played a role. Given the design of a Can-Am Spyder—with its three-wheel layout and different handling characteristics compared to traditional motorcycles—any sharp turns or uneven pavement could significantly affect control.

The second question—one that is often overlooked—is whether a mechanical defect contributed to the crash.
