Denton County, TX — April 2, 2025, nine people were injured as the result of a multi-vehicle accident at around 12:45 p.m. along Interstate 35.

According to preliminary statements from officials, the incident happened along northbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Milam Road, just north of the city.

Investigators did not specific exactly what led up to the crash. It's said that a passenger vehicle and multiple other vehicles collided. Images from the scene show an 18-wheeler, but it's unclear if the truck was involved in the crash.

Due to the accident, at least nine injured persons were reported. At least two of the victims are said to be in critical condition at the time of reporting. Right now, additional details are unavailable.

So soon after a chaotic accident, it's not exactly unusual for there to be few details available. The question, though, is if authorities continued to investigate the factors surrounding the crash even once things settled down.

Unfortunately, officers aren't often given the time or resources they need to conduct proper accident reconstructions. They end up prioritizing clearing the crash scene, and afterwards they may be moved on to other responsibilities before getting a chance to map out the scene, preserve the vehicles for analysis, pull electronic data from the vehicles or the drivers' cell phones, or even speak with witnesses to record their statements.
