Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Having handled hundreds of commercial vehicle accident cases, they're a lot more complex than people tend to realize. They're not just big car wrecks. They can involve unique factors that even authorities sometimes aren't equipped to investigate properly. Was the driver being over-worked? Did they have poorly loaded cargo? Was the truck not properly maintained? Did poor training or reckless practices from their employer lead to a mistake? Did the truck experience mechanical issues due to a defect that requires expert analysis? Likely or not, investigators should be able to consider possibilities like these. If they can't, then the crash needs to be put in the hands of someone more experienced or better equipped who can ensure there are clear answers.
