Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to pedestrian accidents like this, people sometimes jump to conclusions. They believe that either the victim was in a crosswalk, or they're to blame. Like any serious accident, though, it's important to know the whole story. This includes road conditions, lighting and signage, possible emergency situations, road design, cellphone usage, medical conditions, and all kinds of other possibilities that require careful investigations. Ultimately, it's up to the evidence to say what happened. Did authorities take the time to gather as much evidence as they could here before moving on?
