Commentary
If authorities weren't able to make progress here since their initial statements, it may be helpful for them to put more information into the public eye. A lot of the time, hit-and-runs reach a conclusion after someone in the community connects the dots and comes forward with what they know. That way, there can be accountability for the driver leaving the scene and any possible mistakes that led them to flee in the first place.
