Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Tow Truck Accident on Rockingham Rd. in Davenport, IA
Davenport, IA — March 13, 2024, a woman was injured in a pedestrian versus tow truck hit-and-run accident at approximately 7:30 a.m. along Rockingham Road.
According to authorities, a woman was legally crossing a road in a crosswalk at the intersection of Rockingham Road and South Concord Street when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a tow truck occupied by a 52-year-old man failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The man was allegedly using a cell phone during the time off the accident. The tow truck left the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. The truck and it's operator were later located and apprehended. The man is apparently facing multiple charges in connected with this incident.
The woman incurred reportedly serious injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported to a local medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
