Commentary
I talk to people all the time who think accident investigations are simple just because traffic accidents are common. The reality is there can be all kinds of hurdles between families and the answers they deserve.
It could be that unusual circumstances led to a crash. Sometimes, authorities lack the proper tools and training to properly investigate a complex crash scene. And other times, authorities simply move on without doing a complete investigation because they feel they have higher priorities.
This is one of the reasons independent accident reconstructionists are often a vital tool for families to consider. Since they can dedicate all of their time and resources to a single crash at a time, they can help ensure even unlikely possible factors get the attention they deserve. Whether or not those steps will be necessary here remains to be seen.
