Commentary
There's a lot going on here, but it no doubt raises red flags for people that there may have been a teenager under the influence of alcohol. If that claim is true, it brings up the key question: where did that alcohol come from?
I've handled hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers for their role in serious accidents. If evidence shows they over-served someone, and it led to people getting hurt, the establishment can be responsible for the resulting injuries. In my experience, if there's an establishment willing to serve people who aren't of legal drinking age, they're willing to break all kinds of rules. An alcohol provider like that shouldn't be allowed to simply continue putting the community in danger.
So while authorities may be focused on charging an alleged drunk driver for their actions, there also should be investigations into the possibility an accomplice set all of these events into motion. Is that being looked into right now?
