Commentary
Even a seemingly open-and-shut situation like this can require careful investigations. For example, was this rock just a random obstruction, or did it come loose from a poorly maintained roadway? Is this a known stretch of rough road? Did the rock fall from work trucks passing through the area? I find too often that motorcycle wrecks don't get the attention they deserve. It would be good to hear that authorities here acted otherwise and made sure to give this accident a thorough investigation that prioritized getting all the facts.
