Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to serious car accidents, people understandably want to wait for the authorities to get answers. Sometimes, though, it's important to make sure authorities are actually asking the right questions. I talk to victims and families all the time who waited for officials to investigate a crash only to find out the authorities either left the job incomplete or jumped to conclusions. That's why, to make sure the story is told fairly, it's sometimes necessary to bring independent investigators. Otherwise, something important might slip through the cracks.
