Commentary
While car accidents like this have all kinds of factors that need attention, I have to wonder if authorities have determined why only one person had injuries here. While the facts of the crash could reasonably explain this outcome, it's sometimes a red flag the victim's vehicle had some kind of defect.
Something that too often goes overlooked is the possibility of defective safety devices. For example, if airbags or seatbelts malfunction, that can lead to minor or moderate injuries becoming serious or fatal. That sort of issue requires close and careful inspections, though, and authorities don't always have the time, tools, or motivation to conduct that sort of inspection.
Like I said, the isolated injuries here may not be anything out of the ordinary. It's just important that the evidence is what's making that determination. Otherwise, a major problem might slip through the cracks.
