La Blanca, TX — December 21, 2024, a man was injured in a single-car rollover accident at approximately 4:30 a.m. along La Blanca Road.
According to authorities, a 31-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on La Blanca Road in the vicinity north of the Blueberry Drive intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it overturned.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When a driver is seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash, particularly in the early morning hours, it’s easy to assume fatigue or distraction played a role. But in my experience, especially in rural areas like La Blanca Road, it’s often what we don’t know that matters most. To understand how and why this crash occurred, there are three critical questions that should be asked.
First, did the authorities conduct a thorough investigation? A crash at 4:30 a.m. likely occurred in low light, possibly with reduced visibility or road hazards not apparent in daylight. Investigators should examine whether the roadway was properly marked and maintained, whether the shoulder offered any room for recovery, and whether there were environmental conditions—like fog or wildlife—that might have influenced the vehicle’s path. If those aspects weren’t carefully documented, an independent crash reconstruction may be necessary to clarify how the rollover began.
Second, has anyone considered whether a mechanical failure played a role? Rollovers can happen when a vehicle leaves the road and strikes a soft shoulder or obstruction, but they can also result from tire blowouts, steering system malfunctions, or suspension failures—especially in high-center-of-gravity vehicles like pickup trucks. These issues typically don’t leave obvious signs and require a forensic inspection of the vehicle to detect. That kind of investigation is only possible if the vehicle is preserved and not quickly repaired or discarded.
Lastly, has all of the electronic data from the vehicle been collected? The Chevrolet Silverado likely contains an event data recorder that captures vital information from just before the crash—speed, brake use, throttle input, and steering angle. This data can help determine whether the driver attempted to regain control, and whether the vehicle responded appropriately. Supplementary information like GPS logs or nearby surveillance footage may also help establish what occurred. But as with all digital evidence, time is of the essence in securing it.
When a serious crash occurs and the cause remains uncertain, especially when the only vehicle involved rolls over, assumptions don’t provide answers. Asking these questions is the least that can be done to ensure that those affected by this crash get the clarity and closure they deserve.
