When it comes to single-vehicle wrecks, one of the bigger challenges is just making sure nothing went overlooked. They're not that high of a priority for a lot of police departments, so they may fail to go further than surface-level details. A thorough accident reconstruction, though, has to go much deeper. Were there any mechanical defects? Was there an issue with the roadway? Was the driver illegally over-served by a bar? Did faulty tires or brakes contribute to the crash? Even if something seems unlikely, it warrants attention, if only to make sure nothing important slips through the cracks. Were those steps taken here?
