Commentary
There are obviously some missing details here, and one thing I have to wonder about is how only one person suffered serious injuries here. The circumstances could reasonably lead to that result, but sometimes details show that someone ended up with far more severe injuries than they normally would otherwise. That can be a red flag something less common occurred, which might require investigations from more experienced and better-equipped accident reconstructionists. Hopefully authorities are clearing that up right now if they haven't already.
