2 Teens Injured in Single-car Accident on S.H. 3 in La Marque, TX
Galveston County, TX — December 6, 2025, two teenagers were injured due to a single-car accident at approximately 10:00 p.m. along State Highway 3.
According to authorities, three 19-year-old men were traveling in a southeast bound Ford F-150 pickup truck on State Highway 3 in the vicinity of State Highway 146 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup truck was involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a guardrail and overturned. Two of the three men reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When a group of young people is seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash, it’s easy to assume it was just a case of inexperience or poor judgment. But those assumptions can distract from real questions—questions that could reveal whether something else caused the wreck.
1. Did the authorities thoroughly investigate the crash?
A pickup truck hitting a guardrail and overturning doesn’t happen without force—and likely, a sequence of events leading up to it. Did investigators reconstruct the crash scene? Was speed calculated, and were there signs of braking or swerving? Did they determine if the truck veered off the road or lost control due to something in the environment? Without careful documentation of how the truck entered, struck, and reacted to the guardrail, critical clues could be missed.
2. Has anyone looked into the possibility that a vehicle defect caused the crash?
Ford F-150s have a long history on the road, but that doesn’t mean every component works flawlessly. A sudden suspension failure, steering issue, or braking malfunction could lead to a rollover—especially at highway speeds. If no one checked the truck’s mechanical systems or reviewed its service history, then the real cause of the crash may still be under the hood, unnoticed.
3. Has all the electronic data relating to the crash been collected?
The F-150 likely recorded key crash data, including speed, throttle position, brake input, and steering behavior in the moments before impact. That kind of information could clarify whether the driver made an error or reacted to a mechanical failure or outside factor. Phone usage and GPS records can also help track distraction or route decisions. This digital evidence can be short-lived if not preserved quickly—and once it’s gone, so are the facts it could provide.
When young lives are changed by a crash this serious, no part of the investigation should be treated as routine. The only way to know what really happened is to ask questions that go beyond the surface.
Takeaways:
- Single-vehicle rollovers require full scene reconstruction to understand cause and sequence.
- Mechanical failures in the truck could have triggered or worsened the crash.
- Vehicle telemetry and phone or GPS data are crucial to piecing together what happened.
