Commentary
One of my main concerns with crashes involving teen drivers is people are more likely to jump to conclusions. Teens statistically make more mistakes behind the wheel, that much is true. But a proper investigation requires looking into all possibilities. Was there a vehicle defect? Was there something in the road? Did a tire blow out? Was there another reckless driver who left the scene? If authorities take the time to consider all of this, they can help reassure the family they're getting the whole story. But if they simply assume the victim made a mistake, and that's that, they risk letting something important slip through the cracks.
