Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A lot of people jump to conclusions with single-vehicle wrecks, but they can be just as complex as a multi-vehicle pile-up. At the end of the day, investigators still need to preserve electronic data, inspect the vehicle for defects, analyze road conditions, map out debris patterns, examine road design and signage, and otherwise ensure nothing unusual is being overlooked.
The problem is authorities don't always prioritize accident reconstructions, so those details can slip through the cracks if folks aren't careful. That's why crashes like this can sometimes require more thorough independent investigations to make sure all the facts are being considered. That way, the evidence can speak for itself.
