Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Pedestrian accidents can often be more challenging than folks realize. A lot of that challenge, though, simply comes from people not taking the situation seriously. They jump to conclusions or assume everything is about who had the right-of-way. In reality, a proper investigation should also considering things like road design, lighting, vehicle speed, distraction, lighting and signage, alcohol, and other possible factors. Otherwise, something important could easily slip through the cracks. It remains to be seen, then, if authorities are being thorough here or it they're going to leave the victim's loved ones with an incomplete picture of what really happened.
