Woman Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on S.R. 28 in Middleborough, MA
Middleborough, MA — February 9, 2024, a woman was killed and a man was injured in a truck accident at approximately 1:30 p.m. along State Route 28.
According to authorities, a woman was traveling in a Cadillac SUV along S.R. 28 in the vicinity between Rocky Gutter Street and Cushman Street when the accident occurred.
The causal factors that led to the crash are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Cadillac failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It allegedly veered left, crossing the center line and entering the lane of opposing traffic. This resulted in a collision with an oncoming delivery truck.
The woman reportedly incurred critical injuries as a result of the head-on crash. Despite the life-saving measures attempted, she was unable to overcome her injuries and was ultimately declared deceased at the scene. The occupant of the delivery truck incurred injuries of apparently unknown severity and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
