2 Injured in Truck Accident on President George Bush Turnpike in Plano, TX
Plano, TX — December 21, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident just before 1:00 p.m. along the President George Bush Turnpike.
According to reports, a 50-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were traveling in a westbound Mercedes-Benz on the President George Bush Turnpike in the vicinity west of the Preston Road bridge when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the Mercedes-Benz was traveling at speeds deemed unsafe when the rainy and wet weather and road conditions are taken into account. The vehicle allegedly hydroplaned, veered into the left shoulder, then overcorrected back into the roadway where its front end collided with the left side of the trailer of an 18-wheeler. The passenger vehicle was reportedly wedged beneath the trailer and dragged along for a time before it was dislodged and came to a stop on a grassy median.
The man who had been in the Mercedes-Benz sustained apparently moderate injuries, while the woman incurred suspected severe injuries due to the crash. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
