It would surprise folks how often even the authorities may forget that. At the end of the day, the evidence a family needs after a serious accident doesn't necessarily align with the priorities of police. That's why there often needs to be an independent investigation to get people the help they need. It would be unusual if this situation involved similar challenges, which is why it's best to take early reports with a grain of salt and wait for the evidence to speak for itself.
